There isn't much long fic being written for this fandom anymore, but if any is, I will read it. Yes, this is an awful, awful show, but a classic example of the bad show/good fic paradox.
A Little Cheesecake by Kass. Kass's stuff is great, but often a little too fluffy, and this avoids that nicely. It's set before Blair moved in, which intrigues me because it's not something most TS authors do (I mean, would you write an AU in which Clark and Lex met in a different way? It's the same idea.). There's Sentinel craziness, vintage Jim, and lots of smut.
All But Branded by Tangent. Blair gets a tatoo. And that's the plot. A sweet, sweet post-TSbyBS fic.
Between Friends by Helen. I'm rabidly obsessed with all of Helen's stories, but I like this one best. Because...angst. Huge, sexy angst. Yeah.
Blame by Charlemagne. Who is an awesome writer in this fandom and in SN, and this story is no exception. So. Fucking. CUTE.
Berrying the Past by Hellesgift. Established relationship! Which would be surprising, but this story is sweet, and funny, and about picking berries, so it's really not.
Dork by Francesca and Miriam. I love this story because I love Blair, and I especially love the fact that he's a total dork. Also, the fact that Jim used to have an earring. And...eeee!
Everything You Need In One Convenient Location by Julad. Only in TS do you find stories like this about *shopping.* Just UST, and a very amusing Jim POV.
Fruit of the Vine by Aristide. PEACH PORN! Do you know how *long* I've been looking for peach porn?! Ahem. Another really cool "Jim's senses won't let him have sex" story, with fruit. And trust issues. And PEACH PORN!
Heavy Petting by Dawn M Pares. I know what you're thinking, but it's about a dog. Not that the other stuff isn't in there too. Very in character and funny, without being noticeably wittier than the show.
In the Air by Sandy K Herrold. BWAH! Blair, as usual, doesn't stay in the truck, and injuries ensue.
In Vodka Veritas by Gloria Lancaster. Cute. And gross. And Jim unexpectedly speaks French.
Kids Under Twelve Drink Free by Mallory Klohn. This was the story of hers that I read first, so I like it best. The kind of thing I'm constantly quoting to people, whether or not they have any idea what I'm talking about...
Madagascar by Rhipodon Society. I love watching Jim suffer, even if it's just mild annoyance.
No Lothario by Francesca. *sigh* It's impossible to rec just *one* of her stories--hell, just *ten*--but I really love this one. Funny dialogue, obfuscation, and an explanation of the "Shakespeare stuff" line from the pilot, which has never made sense to me.
Origin by Resonant and Kass. Mmmmm. Blair tries to be more sensitive. And succeeds.
Prison by Jack Reuben Darcy. Ahh, how I love long, angsty AUs. And yes, this one does pile on the angst, but it's *Jim* angst. The time and setting are completely different, but the characters are absolutely perfect.
Shadows and Light by Mairead Triste and Aristide. Very ouchy repressed Jim. But gaaaaah.
Tender by Resonant. Definitely one of my favorites. Like, top five favorites. Anyway. I love the whole "Blair's going to leave/Jim's gonna make me leave" dynamic, and this story is abut that. The writing makes me insanely jealous, especially the way the author describes Blair.
The Fifth Sense by Justine. A Sentinel Too sequel that doesn't make anyone feel overly guilty. And Jim's senses are responsible for them getting together in a way that actually makes *sense.* No pun intended. Link is to the WayBack Machine archive, because I can't seem to find a current link.
Yellow Roses by Francesca. Yeah, another one. It's a J/B story...about abortion. And accidents. I just *love* this fic.
