Alison Bechdel- Creator of Dykes To Watch Out For and Fun Home.  Encouraged me when I was younger; I'll never forget.
Terry Moore- Creator of Strangers in Paradise.  Writes some of the most compelling characters I've ever met.
Wendy and Richard Pini- Creators of ElfQuest.  Responsible for really getting me into comics.

Battle On!- a comic parodying Xena and its fandom.  completed.
Boy Meets Boy- a very well-known strip about a pair of gay men and their friends.  completed.
Bruno- politics, and humanity.   oh, the humanity.   it also has soul.

Demonology 101- very very well-known online comic about demons and free will.  completed.
The Devil's Panties- not Satanic porn.  the everyday adventures of a bouncy little cartoonist.
Dicebox- gorgeous, intelligent science fiction comic about very human fellow travelers.
Dinosaur Comics!- ridiculously goofy clip-art comic starring a bright green, illogical, and yet philosophical T-Rex.
Earthsong- shiny, pretty, fluffy fantasy stuff.
Family Man- a disadvantaged young German academic navigates life.  serious spin-off of the hilarious "Bite Me!" (Girlamatic)

Girlamatic- an amazing collective of comics specifically aimed at women, but very everyone-friendly.
Girls With Slingshots- oh those crazy young people!  this comic is made of awesome.
I Was Kidnapped By Lesbian Pirates From Outer Space!- self-explanatory.  by the creator of YU+ME.
Letters To A Wild Boar- a whole lot of trippy and random.
Liliane, Bi-Dyke- down-to-earth humor and semi-autobiographical stories centering around queer culture.
minus- odd little stories about a little girl with magical powers.

ModernTales- another fabulous collective: hosts work by Donna Barr!
My Life In Blue- as glamorous and decadent as you wish you could be.
NICE Hair- a rather random comic about Neil Gaiman, Tim Burton, and others.
No Rest For The Wicked
- doesn't everyone love a good fairy tale retelling?
Outsider- a science fiction story about a human man stranded on an alien ship.  breathtaking art, but very slow updates.
Peter Pan- a retelling of the classic story.  the art is beyond amazing, though sadly updates are rare.
Penny and Aggie- a whole bunch of high school melodrama, starring two girls who hate each other.

Punch an' Pie- the sequel to "Queen of Wands," starring another strong-willed, hyperactive young woman, and her girlfriend.

Queen of Wands- an amusing comic about a strong-willed, hyperactive young woman and her friends.  completed.
Questionable Content- post-college soap opera with music reference and sentient computers.
Shadow of a Doubt- demons and humans and everything in between, trying to live together and get along.  heh.
Shortpacked!- Wacky pop-culture hijinks, and the trials and tribulations of selling toys for a living.

Sluggy Freelance- one of the longest-running and most popular webcomics around, and for good reason.
Something Positive- well-renowned for its merciless, dry humor.
Soul-d- Bernadette, a janitor at a strip club, wants to be a singer.  So, she sells her soul.
Special School- three super-powered teenagers get into a whole lot of trouble.

Spook Squad- a comic about a bunch of ghostbusting, vampire-hunting weird folks, by the maker of NICE Hair and her sister.
Venus Envy- the trials and tribulations of a teenaged MtF trannie girl.  quirky humor included.
YU+ME- a cute little lesbian coming-of-age story.

odds and ends:
Girl Wonder- a site advocating for female superhero comic fans.  Very awesome.
When Fangirls Attack- a daily collection of links to articles related to women and comics.  Very useful.
Friends of Lulu- supporting women in comics, and among other things, publishing me (in an antho) for the very first time.
The Comics Curmudgeon- this guy makes fun of the newspaper funnies, and I find it extremely cathartic.
Muffinfilms- a series of short animated films about muffins.
Big Bunny- a series of short animated films about an enormous, carnivorous rabbit, by the creator of Muffinfilms
Making Fiends- a series of short animated films about two little girls, one evil, one a bit of a flake, by that muffin girl again.
Weebl and Bob- an amusing and rude series of animated films, involving a couple of characters who look like eggs
Pandora- free internet radio.  you put in songs or artists, and it tries to find you more music you might like.
del.icio.us- a place to host your bookmarks online.  how handy!

NaNoWriMo- National Novel-Writing Month, for the truly insane.
Postsecret- Every week, people send in postcards with their secrets, anonymously.
Internet Archive Wayback Machine- if something you liked on the net has been taken down, you can often find it here.
